Skincare Tips for the Holiday Season

It also means that you have extra incentive to look your best when it comes time for holiday photos, which means you may need to up your skincare routine for the festive season. Here are some key skincare tips for the holiday season to keep in mind so that you can keep your face looking young, radiant, and energetic throughout the festive season’s celebrations.


Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize


As the weather gets colder, the air becomes increasingly dry and, in turn, so will your skin. It doesn’t help that curling up by the fire, turning up a space heater, or other common responses to dropping temperatures can further dry up your skin, either. If your skincare routine doesn’t already include a moisturizer, now is a great time to change that. Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to help bolster the skin without making problems for your pores. If you have particularly dry skin, a night cream or serum may also be worth considering so you can infuse while you sleep.


Consider Masks


Face masks can help deliver a “quick fix” of nutrients, moisture, and shaping in a single package. If you travel for the holidays, it can be a hassle to bring your entire skincare routine with you, so facial masks can make a good substitute for a series of bottles and creams. Alternatively, facial masks can serve as a quick “booster” to use during downtime to keep your complexion bright and face full.


Mind Your Stress


Holidays can be hectic and all that stress can wear at your appearance. Between wrinkles, blemishes, increased risk of acne, not to mention puffy eyes or dark circles from reduced sleep, it’s easy to see why keeping calm and collected should be a top priority. Pay attention to the signs your body is giving and, if you find yourself stressing out, find a way to regain some serenity. Steps like making sure your schedule has time for proper sleep or a powernap during the day, excusing yourself for a few minutes to decompress, or even just a soothing bath can all help keep stress down and your beauty high.


Enjoy Yourself


It’s important not to get overly hung up on your appearance during the holidays. While wanting to look your best for friends and family is important, it shouldn’t come at the expense of your ability to enjoy the festivities. Besides, being happy and relaxed is good for your well-being in general, not just your skin. So don’t forget to have fun!
